Experimental data: essentiality for growth
Gene essentiality data were generated using TraDIS (transposon directed insertion site sequencing) by Dr Craig Woods at Nottingham University. This technique involves inserting transposons into the genome to generate a large number of mutants. The insertion index is the number of mapped insertions divided by the length of the gene; an insertion index of 0 demonstrates that a gene is essential. Note that these data are for Clostridium autoethanogenum Abrini.
