Categories
Genopsis pages are tagged with keywords or phrases. We call these categories.
Categories have three main purposes:
- Give quick insight into the current page. For example, if a page has the 2,3-Butanediol category, you can see that the page relates to 2,3-butanediol without having to read any further detail.
- Allow pages to be collected and searched around a theme. For example, you can use search to find all genes tagged with Thiamine to identify genes, enzymes and reactions associated with this vitamin. Another example is to tag all pages related to our Analytics capabilities with Analytics.
- Offer insight when doing data analysis. For example, you could cluster the results of your transcriptomic experiment analysis based on categories.
Adding new categories to a page
Categories are user-curated element of a Genopsis page. Use the 'edit' button on the top right of the categories box to edit the list of categories.

- You can use any word or phrase for a category.
- A page can have an unlimited number of categories.
- You must write categories in sentence case. For example: Central carbon metabolism.
